Heart Saver CPR (Level A)

This course covers basic CPR skills for the general public and families of people who are knowingly at risk. Learn one-rescuer CPR and choking procedures for the adult casualty.

Course includes:

4 hour course includes CPR theory, adult one-rescuer CPR and adult airway obstructions. Successful candidates receive a Heart Saver wallet card valid for 1 year.

Heart Saver PLUS CPR (Level B)

This course covers basic CPR skills for the general public and families of people who are knowingly at risk. Learn one-rescuer CPR, adult choking procedures and either child or infant CPR skills.

Course includes:

4 to 5 hour course includes CPR theory, adult one-rescuer CPR, adult airway obstructions and infant or child CPR. Successful candidates receive a Heart Saver Plus wallet card valid for 1 year.

Basic Rescuer CPR (Level C)

This course covers in-depth CPR training for emergency professionals and first responders or anyone who wants to become a CPR Instructor.

Course includes:

8 hour course includes CPR theory and practical skills. Successful candidates receive a CPR Basic Rescuer (Level C) wallet card valid for 1 year.

Basic Rescuer CPR Retraining (Level C)

This course covers in-depth CPR training for emergency professionals and first responders or anyone who wants to become a CPR Instructor.

Course includes:

2 to 4 hour retraining course includes CPR theory and practical skills. Successful candidates receive a CPR Basic Rescuer (Level C) wallet card valid for 1 year.

Infant/Child CPR (Level D)

This course covers infant & child CPR for parents and special groups involved in the care of children. Learn how to prevent childhood injury, promote safe and healthy lifestyles while learning CPR and choking procedures for infants and children.

Course includes:

5 hour course covers rescue skills for infants and children. Candidates receive an Infant/Child (Level D) wallet card valid for 1 year.

CPR Awareness (Level E)

This customized course provides CPR awareness training for special needs groups and short workshops.

Course includes:

1 to 4 hour awareness workshop presents candidates with an understanding of risk factors, healthy living choices and an introduction to CPR resuscitation concepts. Candidates receive a CPR Awareness (Level E) wallet card.

Emergency First Aid

This course covers basic assessment and first aid treatment in emergency situations.

8 hour course has no written first aid quiz. Successful candidates receive an Emergency First Aid wallet card and wall certificate valid for 3 years, and CPR Heart Saver (Level A) wallet card valid for 1 year. There is no recertification for Emergency First Aid. You must complete the entire 8 hour course over.

Standard First Aid and
Basic Rescuer CPR (Level C)

This course covers in-depth first aid emergency care and treatment allowing rescuers to act calmly while handling life threatening emergencies.

Course includes:

16 hour course includes written first aid quiz. Successful candidates receive a Standard First aid wallet card and wall certificate valid for 3 years, and CPR Basic Rescuer (Level C) wallet card valid for 1 year.

Advanced First Aid Training (First Responder).
This 40 hour course taught by paramedics or other advance health care personnel.

Awareness training is available for your group at your location or ours.
Training is offered for first aid skills, CPR skills and defibrillation awareness.

Public Access Defibrillation

Perri-Med is proud to be working in alliance with Medcontrol to offer our valued clients A.E.D. (Automated External Defibrillation) Training certified under the direct support of our Medical Director, Dr. C. Fedoruk and accredited through Medcontrol Consultants Inc. Below outlines information pertaining to Ontario legislation, certification requirements and the P.A.D. program

Defibrillation Provider Course includes:

4 hour course includes written quiz. Recertification is annual.

What Are The Pre-requisites?

CPR Heart Saver certification (minimum) is mandatory and must be current within six months of the Defibrillation course or be included in the Defibrillation Training.

Purpose:

The purpose of the AED Provider course is to train the participant in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator.

Objectives:

The AED Provider Level course will train participants to:

• Recognize the signs and symptoms of a heart attack,
• Recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke and/or sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).
• Activate the chain of survival - early recognition, early access, early CPR, early defibrillation.

Audience:

First aid team members in a workplace, health and safety personnel, medical staff, security teams, lifeguards, public access defibrillation (PAD) responders and targeted responders.

Minimum Participants:

For on-site training, a minimum of six participants is required. (There is no set maximum) Training is also available at the Perri-Med training centre. Please see our public course schedule for individual training. We follow Health Canada and the applicable WSIB/WCB requirements for instructor per participant ratios.

Prerequisites:

This workshop is for participants that possess a Heartsaver CPR level "A" certificate or higher.

This course is under the medical direction of Dr. Curtis Fedoruk. Annual training is mandatory.

*CPR and First Aid courses can be combined with this course.

Oxygen Administration Provider

Oxygen should be applied to all drowning and heart attack victims and other medical conditions. Learn how to recognize these conditions and administer 100% oxygen when needed.

Course includes:

4 hour course includes written quiz. There is no recertification for Oxygen Provider. You must complete the entire 4 hour course over.

Purpose:

The purpose of this course is to have the participant learn how to obtain and maintain an airway and use oxygen therapy properly and effectively.

Objectives:

Participants will be taught different methods to obtain an airway, to use oxygen and to maintain oxygen equipment.

Audience:

Anyone who is in possession of or in control of oxygen and/or oxygen equipment.

Minimum Participants:

For on-site training, a minimum of six participants is required. (There is no set maximum) For off-site, please inquire about our facilities. Please see our public course schedule for individual training. We follow Health Canada and the applicable WSIB/WCB requirements for instructor per participant ratios.

Prerequisites:

A valid CPR certification is required. This course can be implemented as part of the Emergency or Standard First Aid course curriculum.

The purpose of this program is to prevent, avoid and therefore reduce illness and injury through education. By increasing the understanding towards hazardous materials including the use of such materials or entering into an unsafe environment, and by taking universal precautions for protection, the workplace becomes a safer place. These unsafe materials can include dangerous chemicals, daily used chemical products, or body fluid (blood, regurgitation) at the scene of a first-aid emergency.

Our WHMIS program and WHMIS Refresher Program include the following:

Purpose:

To provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct their own WHMIS training course.

Objectives:

To provide participants with a good working knowledge of WHMIS and its various components and the teaching skills necessary to deliver an adult-oriented WHMIS training course. A combination of theory utilizing various teaching methods to appeal to all learning styles and hands-on training will be provided.

Audience:

Supervisors, managers, health and safety personnel or any individual who would like to internally educate and instruct their fellow employees on WHMIS.
