E)
This customized course provides CPR awareness training for special needs groups
and short workshops.

1 to 4 hour awareness workshop presents candidates with an understanding of
risk factors, healthy living choices and an introduction to CPR resuscitation

Standard First Aid and

This course covers in-depth first aid emergency care and treatment allowing
rescuers to act calmly while handling life threatening emergencies.

This 40 hour course taught by paramedics or other advance
health care personnel.
Awareness training is available for your group at your location or
ours.
Training is offered for first aid skills, CPR skills and defibrillation awareness.
Public Access Defibrillation
Perri-Med is proud to be working in alliance with Medcontrol
to offer our valued clients A.E.D. (Automated External Defibrillation)
Training certified under the direct support of our Medical Director,
Dr. C. Fedoruk and accredited through Medcontrol Consultants Inc. Below

What Are The Pre-requisites?
CPR Heart Saver certification (minimum) is mandatory and must be current
within six months of the Defibrillation course or be included in the Defibrillation
Training.
AED Provider Level
- 3.0 Hours
Purpose:
The purpose of the AED Provider course is to train the participant in the
use of an Automated External Defibrillator.
Objectives:
The AED Provider Level course will train participants to:
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of a heart attack,
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke and/or sudden cardiac arrest
(SCA).
- Activate the chain of survival - early recognition, early access, early CPR,
early defibrillation.
Audience:
First aid team members in a workplace, health and safety personnel, medical
staff, security teams, lifeguards, public access defibrillation (PAD) responders
and targeted responders.
Minimum Participants:
For on-site training, a minimum of six participants is required. (There is
no set maximum) Training is also available at the Perri-Med training centre. Please
see our public course schedule for individual training. We follow Health Canada
and the applicable WSIB/WCB requirements for instructor per participant ratios.
Prerequisites:
This workshop is for participants that possess a Heartsaver CPR level "A"
certificate or higher.

Oxygen Administration
Provider
Oxygen should be applied to all drowning and heart attack victims and
other medical conditions. Learn how to recognize these conditions and administer
100% oxygen when needed.

Airway Management and Oxygen Therapy - 2 Hours
Purpose:
The purpose of this course is to have the participant learn how to obtain
and maintain an airway and use oxygen therapy properly and effectively.
Objectives:
Participants will be taught different methods to obtain an airway, to use
oxygen and to maintain oxygen equipment.
Audience:
Anyone who is in possession of or in control of oxygen and/or oxygen equipment.
Minimum Participants:
For on-site training, a minimum of six participants is required. (There is
no set maximum) For off-site, please inquire about our facilities. Please see
our public course schedule for individual training. We follow Health Canada and
the applicable WSIB/WCB requirements for instructor per participant ratios.
Prerequisites:
A valid CPR certification is required. This course can be implemented as part
of the Emergency or Standard First Aid course curriculum.

WHMIS Site Specific Awareness Training
4 Hours
Developed in 1985 by both Government, Industry and Labor, the WHMIS program
was designed to create an understanding for the workers' and the communities'
right to know about the physical and chemical hazards in the workplace and surrounding
environment.
The purpose of this program is to prevent, avoid and therefore reduce
illness and injury through education. By increasing the understanding
towards hazardous materials including the use of such materials or entering into
an unsafe environment, and by taking universal precautions for protection, the
workplace becomes a safer place. These unsafe materials can include dangerous
chemicals, daily used chemical products, or body fluid (blood, regurgitation)
at the scene of a first-aid emergency.
Our WHMIS program and WHMIS Refresher Program include the following:
- WHMIS History and Implementation
- Recognition and Application of Possible Hazards and Risks
- Specific Risk Identification (specific to the workplace)
- Material Safety Data Sheets (general overview & workplace specific)

Purpose:

components and the teaching skills necessary to deliver an adult-oriented WHMIS
training course. A combination of theory utilizing various teaching methods to
appeal to all learning styles and hands-on training will be provided.
Audience:
Supervisors, managers, health and safety personnel or any individual who would
like to internally educate and instruct their fellow employees on WHMIS.
