Please note: All scheduled Emergency and Standard First Aid courses include CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillation) awareness training. There is no recertification for Emergency First Aid, the entire 8 hr course must be taken. All Emergency and Standard First Aid courses meet federal and provincial regulations. Courses can be taught at your workplace or at one of our locations. We will supply all the necessary equipment for the course. We also offer a group discount for groups of 20 or more.

Length: 3 Hrs
Learn to recognize cardiovascular emergencies and provide one rescuer CPR and choking techniques for adults; geared toward the workplace and general public. Registered candidates receive a CPR e-manual. Successful candidates receive a CPR Heartsaver Level A e-card valid for 1 year. There is no recertification for this program. Paper CPR manuals and permanent plastic certification cards are available at an additional cost. Level B, C or BLS Provider CPR (HCP) is available at an additional cost.

z CPR Level B - Public

Length: 3 Hrs
Learn to recognize cardiovascular emergencies and provide one rescuer CPR and choking techniques for adults and either the infant or child; Geared toward the workplace and general public. 5-5 CPR BLS Provider

Length: 5 Hrs
Health Care Professionals learn to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking in Adults, Children, and Infants using pulse checks, BVM's and a team approach; Geared toward professional rescuers, (i.e. Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics and other First Responders). Registered candidates receive a first aid e-manual. *Renewal course is available.

5-4 CPR Level C (Lay Rescuer) - Public

Length: 4 Hrs
Learn to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking in Adults, Children, and Infants; geared toward the workplace, families, parents, general public, and child care. Registered candidates receive a CPR e-manual. Successful candidates receive a CPR Lay Rescuer Level C e-card valid for 1 year. There is no recertification for this program. Paper CPR manuals and permanent plastic certification cards are available at an additional cost. BLS Provider CPR (HCP) is available at an additional cost.

z CPR Level D (Infant / Child)

Length: 3 Hrs
Learn to recognize cardiovascular emergencies and provide one rescuer CPR and choking techniques for infants or children; geared toward expecting parents and babysitters. Registered candidates receive a CPR e-manual. Successful candidates receive a CPR Heartsaver Level D e-card valid for 1 year. There is no recertification for this program. Awareness on recognition and treatment for cardiovascular emergencies and choking; geared toward brief educational sessions.

5-7 AED Provider

Length: 4 Hrs
This course trains the participant in the usage of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Course includes AED theory, AED shock scenarios, transfer of care, special situations, maintenance, and written test. Prerequisite: CPR Heart Saver (minimum) or CPR must be combined with AED training. Registered candidates receive an AED e-manual. Successful candidates receive an AED e-card valid for 1 year. There is no recertification for this program. Paper AED manuals and permanent plastic certification cards are available at an additional cost. Level A, B, C or BLS Provider CPR (HCP) is available at an additional cost.

7-1 Babysitting Course

Length: 12 Hrs
Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training is an important training program for potential babysitters and parents considering hiring a babysitter. Course covers the responsibilities of a babysitter, safety in the home, select safe and suitable games and activities, how to handle the basics of infant and child care, how to react responsibly to medical emergencies and injuries, CPR, perform first aid for common childhood injuries and illnesses, poison control and set up and can prepare children to interview for a babysitting job. The course is open to anyone ages 11-13 yrs. old.

Candidates learn basic assessment and first aid treatment in emergency situations. Course includes activating 911, scene survey, patient assessment, choking, CPR skills (Level A) and AED awareness, shock, bleeding wounds, and more. 8-1 Emergency First Responder

Length: 44 Hrs
Emergency First Responder is a comprehensive full week program customized for first responders managing the scene of an emergency. Course includes: Assessing and securing an emergency scene, making critical decisions including airway insertion, oxygen administration, breathing devices, automated External Defib (AED), all levels of basic cardiac life support (CPR), enhanced secondary survey, baseline vitals, such as blood pressure and pulse rate, musculoskeletal and soft tissue injuries, burns, heat and cold emergencies, spinal board, cervical collars, moving and transportation skills, emergency childbirth, other specialized equipment, and assisting when paramedics arrive. Students will receive a first responder textbook as part of their tuition. Students receive a wallet card valid for 3 years.

6-1 Instructor Course First Aid/CPR/AED

Length: 32 Hrs

Our instructors can teach scheduled courses at the National training centre, or operate as an independ first aid training organization with your own training company. Our training programs provide the instructor with in-depth skills, materials, training products and support to conduct CPR, AED and First Aid training programs. Click here for FAI registration form. If you are new to emergency care training and wish to become a Perri-Med First Aid Instructor, follow these steps: Obtain a current Standard First Aid certificate from any recognized training agency and obtain a current Perri-Med CPR/Defibrillation Instructor certificate prior to the FAI course. Register for a Perri-Med First Aid Instructor course by returning the course registration form. Obtain your pre-course instructor package with assignments and prepare for the course. It is recommended that you audit at least 2 first aid courses prior to the instructor course. Complete the First Aid Instructor course. Complete monitoring by a Perri-Med First Aid Instructor Trainer, or "experienced" Instructor while teaching a first aid course.

6-3 Cross Over Instructor Course

Length: 8 Hrs
If you are already a current First Aid/CPR/ instructor with another approved organization, it is easy to crossover and become a Perri-Med First Aid Instructor. Contact a Perri-Med First Aid Instructor Trainer to cross-over as a Perri-Med First Aid Instructor. Obtain your pre-course instructor package and prepare for the cross-over. It is recommended that you audit one or more first aid courses prior to the cross-over. Provide documentation of your current First Aid Instructor certification and other related instructor certificates (eg. CPR I, HCP I, AED I, etc.). Prepare to demonstrate, at a minimum, all CPR Health Care Professional (HCP) skills, defibrillation skills and one bandaging skill. Attend the cross-over update with a certified Perri-Med First Aid Instructor Trainer. The one day cross-over orientation includes all administrative materials and presentations for training.

z First Aid / CPR Instructor Trainer

Length: 16 Hrs
Instructor Trainers are certified to train students and Instructors in Perri-Med First Aid Training Programs. If you have been a current Perri-Med First Aid Instructor for the past 2 years, follow these steps: Register for a Perri-Med First Aid Instructor course by returning the completed course registration form. Provide documentation of your current Perri-Med First Aid Instructor certification. Obtain your pre-course instructor trainer package with assignments and prepare for the course. It is recommended that you audit two or more instructor courses prior to the instructor trainer course. Complete the First Aid Instructor Trainer course. Complete monitoring by a Perri-Med First Aid Instructor Trainer while teaching a first aid instructor course. The Instructor Trainer course includes: first aid reguations, course design & content, practical assignments, written assignments, course presentations, time management, candidate evaluation tools and written quiz.

1-9 Standard First Aid - BLS CPR Recert - 1 yr only

This one-day recertification course covers all the skills in Standard First Aid, CPR BLS Provider - HCP, AED awareness, bleeding wounds, shock, broken bones, poisoning, diabetes, medical conditions, and heat/cold injuries. Length: 2 Hrs
The BLS Provider Renewal course is an intense course geared towards experienced healthcare providers that work in a medical response environment or hospital setting who use BLS skills regularly and therefore require limited practice to be successful. This course covers single-rescuer and team-rescuer basic life support skills including pulse checks, bag-valve mask use and rescue breathing. Certificate issued upon successful completion. 7-2 Home Alone & Stranger Safety

Length: 7 Hrs
The Home Alone Program is designed to provide children 8-11 years of age with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods of time. It will help them understand how to prevent problems, handle real-life situations, and keep them safe and constructively occupied. The program focuses on small group discussions, problem solving, role-playing, and instructor-led demonstrations including: - Ages 8-11 are welcome, ideally students are mature for their age (especially if under 10) - Focus is on SELF safety, critical thinking and building confidence - Stranger Safety, getting home safely, staying productive and home alone house rules - Internet safety, phone safety and door safety - Kitchen safety and fire safety, with an emphasis on prevention - Basic First Aid (for self), knowing when to call 911 or your parents - The best course to take if unsure (Babysitting is very different, there is little overlap in content) - Siblings should attend together provided they are all of minimum age, and want to attend This program does NOT certify your child to be able to stay Home Alone, this is a family decision. Upon completion of this course, we ask that you review the practical section of the manual with your children. At Perri-Med, we want YOU to be as comfortable as your child - ultimately getting everyone ready for their role in this exciting challenge and responsibility.

This 6-8 hour online course covers all the skills in Emergency First Aid plus scene survey, patient assessment, choking, CPR Skills (Level C), AED awareness, bleeding wounds, shock, broken bones, poisoning, diabetes, medical conditions, heat/cold injuries and more. If you wish to receive official, WSIB approved Perri-Med certificates, you must register for and attend a practical skills in-class training session within 90 days of completing your online course.

4-1 IN-CLASS Standard First Aid- C - Public Day 2

This First Aid and CPR+AED IN-CLASS program is designed to provide course participants with the practical skills for first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and public access defibrillation (AED). Skills include: casualty management, treating shock, bleeding, spinal injury, splinting, and a variety of other first aid skills. Candidates must present the ONLINE certification to enter the in-class course. Final certification is a combination of the ONLINE certificate, IN-CLASS participation for practical skills development and skills testing and a final written exam. Registered candidates receive a first aid e-manual. Successful candidates receive a Standard First Aid e-card valid for three years, and CPR Basic Rescuer (Level C) e-card for 1 year. Paper first aid manuals and permanent plastic certification cards are available at an additional cost.

Learn to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking in Adults, Children, and Infants; geared toward the workplace, families, parents, general public, and child care. Registered candidates receive a CPR e-manual. Successful candidates receive a CPR Lay Rescuer Level C e-card valid for 3 years. There is no recertification for this program. Paper CPR manuals and permanent plastic certification cards are available at an additional cost. BLS Provider CPR (HCP) is available at an additional cost.

8-2 Oxygen Therapy & Airway Management

Length: 4 Hrs
This course is designed to teach First Responders how to use Oxygen, Oral Airways and Suction techniques. Airway Management includes; Opening the Mouth, Cross Finger Technique, Tongue-Jaw Lift, Airway Adjuncts – Insertion and Removal, Oropharyngeal (OPA) Airways, Nasopharyngeal (NPA) Airways, Supraglottic Airways (Awareness Only), Suction. Oxygen Therapy includes: Pulse Oximetry, Supplemental Oxygen, Oxygen Cylinders, Oxygen Regulators, Oxygen Delivery Devices, Administering Oxygen. Prerequisite: Current BLS CPR certification

6-4 Instructor Trainer Course - First Aid/CPR/AED

Length: 16 Hrs
Instructor Trainers are certified to train new instructors and students in Perri-Med First Aid Training Programs. Our Train the Trainer workshop, focuses on how to prepare for a training, ways to lead engaging workshops and methods for managing participants. We tackle how to maintain energy levels during an in-person or virtual training. We cover how to incorporate equity and inclusion in design and facilitation, review adult learning practices, discuss online and in-person activity creation, curriculum design and engaged online and in-person learning. Prerequisites: Must be an active Perri-Med Instructor for at least 2 years. Must successfully complete the monitoring process.

z Instructor Course Online-First Aid/CPR/AED Part 1

Length: 14 Hrs
The Perri-Med Online First Aid & CPR/AED Instructor course was developed to be simple to use, interactive and effective. You can complete this course at your own pace, and it's accessible on all devices. This e-learning component was designed to provide standard base of information for all Perri-Med instructors allowing for greater consistency in all Perri-Med training programs. This is a SELF-PACED course, however you must complete all modules prior to taking the in-class sessions. We recommend you begin this program at least 2 weeks prior to the in-class sessions. Don't forget to plan enough time to prepare and rehearse your pre-course assignments for the in-class sessions. These assignments are issued by your course conductor. Once the course is complete, you will download a certificate of completion to hand in to the instructor on the first day of the in-class course.

6-7 Master Instructor Trainer

Length: 16 Hrs
Becoming a first aid Master Instructor Trainer (MIT) involves holding advanced certifications, gaining extensive experience, and pursuing additional education. MITs train other instructors, emphasizing expert-level knowledge and refining instructional techniques. Duties include curriculum development, assessment creation, and evaluating instructor performance. Active participation in industry events contributes to continuous improvement in teaching standards. MITs play a crucial role in elevating the overall quality of first aid instruction and enhancing community well-being.
